Promotional Pens - The Best Form of Advertising?

July 18, 2008

There are literally hundreds of different ways to advertise a new product, service, or company; and the savvy business would do well giving each available option due consideration. There is no one size fits all advertising strategy, and every situation requires a different prescribed marketing course. If you are looking to launch a new company or product than creating brand recognition is likely near the top of your marketing agenda, fortunately with promotional pens you can create a good deal of brand recognition with minimal capital investment.

It is this inexpensive price tag that makes promotional pens one of the best advertising tools for creating brand recognition. For a fraction of the cost of a television or print campaign promotional pens will have your company name logo and phone number in the hands of thousands of potential customers; and when you think about it what’s the point of getting a bunch of new clients if you have spent all of your capital on an ad budget?

The fun does not stop there however, promotional pens also have a leg up over their advertising strategy competition in other ways as well. For instance promotional pens are useful and thus unlikely to be cast aside (until they run out of ink that is). Paper leaflets may be glanced at once or twice, but inevitably they will be headed for the garbage, unlike a promotional pen they simply have no use. Not to mention promotional pens are often passed along between people, as they are seen as inexpensive disposable objects. Because of this you might be able to reach upwards of three separate individuals all with the same pen. You know how it plays out, someone asks to borrow a pen then never returns it; well this social no-no actually works to your advantage, as the more the promotional pens exchange hands the wider your advertising net.

While promotional pens alone are not the best advertising strategy for a company coupled with other forms of advertising as part of an entire marketing strategy they are a valuable tool. There is simply no better way to target very specific demographics in an inconspicuous way at such a low cost. Other forms of creating brand recognition do indeed exist, and as your company grows you may want to look towards adding them in to the fold, however none surpass the advantages of working with promotional pens.
